There is moderate walking on mountain paths and viewing platforms. The park has shuttle buses and elevators that reduce the need for strenuous hiking. Comfortable walking shoes are essential.
The Xi’an–Zhangjiajie and Zhangjiajie–Shanghai routes are most efficient by air, saving a full day of travel time each way so you can maximize sightseeing.
